Remove unloved tattoos.
Times and tastes are constantly changing. Tattoos that were once in style may have become blemishes you're embarrassed to show in public today. That's why removing them can make a huge difference in how you feel about yourself. If you've grown tired of a tattoo, consider ridding yourself of it with cosmetic laser treatment — once and for all.
Grown tired of a tattoo? With cosmetic laser treatment, you can get rid of it — once and for all. Personal tastes — and times — constantly change. That’s why removing unwanted tattoos will make a huge difference in how you feel about yourself.
How does laser tattoo removal work?
Tattoo ink selectively absorbs peak-power laser light pulses. This causes the targeted ink particles to break down mechanically while significantly decreasing potential damage to surrounding tissues. The fragmented particles are then removed from the skin by the body's lymphatic (or immune) system.
Will it hurt?
People have different tolerance levels of discomfort. If it was uncomfortable receiving the tattoo, it may be uncomfortable having the tattoo removed. However, the treatment is fairly quick and we have various options available to aid in your comfort.
How many treatments are required?
Unfortunately, the number of treatments needed cannot be accurately predicted. Typically, 4-6 treatments are required. The amount of treatments required are affected by a number of factors. One of those factors is the age of the tattoo. Old tattoos appear dull, blue, indistinct and blurred with time. These visual changes correlate with the ink particles moving deeper into the dermis which can increase the number of treatments required.
Color is another factor, with black being the easiest color to remove. Other colors, such as reds and yellows, can take more time. Whether a tattoo was done by an amateur or a professional will affect the amount of treatments needed. Amateur tattoos usually have less ink, less color and are not as deep, requiring less treatments.
Why can't I come back every week until it's gone?
When you received your tattoo, you experienced a healing process which is very similar to post-laser tattoo removal treatment. It's essential the treatment heals completely prior to the next treatment to avoid adverse affects such as scarring and hyperpigmentation. Therefore, treatments are scheduled approximately 4 weeks apart.
